Memphis: ‘I’ve started 2 games in the last 2 weeks. It’s not enough’

I’ve had two starting appearances in the last two weeks. It’s not enough. I’m subbed off after 60 minutes but I want more. There are usually more chances to score in the last 25 minutes of the game and there are always possibilities to take advantage of that,” Memphis Depay has told the media, per Mundo Deportivo.

This time, I’m looking forward to the week with the national team even more. I’m sure you can guess why. I played less than usual and it’s not something I’m used to,” the Dutchman added.

Memphis was expectedly dropped to the bench after Robert Lewandowski joined the club. Xavi, however, has found the solution and started to play the Dutchman on the left wing more often.

Still, it is too difficult for Memphis to win competition against Raphinha and Ansu Fati for now.

The 28-year-old was Barca’s top goalscorer with 13 goals last season.
