‘We’ve got an updated line in’: Sky present very latest news about Chelsea’s move for Anthony Gordon live on air

Chelsea are reportedly in “high-level talks” with Everton to sign Anthony Gordon from them.

Sky Sports presented a fresh update on the Everton player’s future around Thursday lunchtime.

Sky presenter Emma Paton shared: “We’ve got an updated line in from Chelsea. We understand that Chelsea are pressing ahead with their attempt to sign Anthony Gordon from Everton. High-level talks continuing. Chelsea are prepared to pay up to £60million. We know that Gordon is one of Thomas Tuchel’s top targets this summer.”

Gordon, 21, is clearly a player that Tuchel’s side are still trying to bring to Stamford Bridge.

The Everton attacker’s future has been heavily speculated about during the last few days, so it’ll be very interesting to see where he ends up by the time the transfer window shuts next week.

Chelsea high-level talks for Gordon

Chelsea appear to be persistent in their attempt to sign Everton’s lightning-quick winger.

It’s been claimed that Tuchel has been particularly keen to sign him after seeing the way he performed against his side last season.

There’s definitely not enough yet on Gordon’s CV to suggest he’s anywhere near a £60million player, but the English youngster has raw pace, energy and potential.

Hopefully, the Blues are a step ahead of everyone else and have spotted something special in him.

If the Blues are to be successful this campaign, a lot will boil down to how the shape attackers.

Raheem Sterling’s still waiting to score his first goal for the club, but the signs are he’s a really positive addition to the forward line.

Tuchel’s side are crying out for more goals from their forwards, though.

Gordon is yet to prove he can be a goalscorer at Premier League level despite tormenting some defenders with his movement, but you’d suspect he would get far more chances in a Chelsea XI.
