Tuchel confirms triple injury boost for Chelsea ahead of Carabao Cup final vs Liverpool
Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has been speaking to the media ahead of his side’s Carabao Cup final clash against Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday and the German has delivered some positive update on the fitness of his players ahead of the game.
According to Tuchel, everyone was involved in the last training session apart from Ben Chilwell who has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season. This means Hakim Ziyech and Matteo Kovacic who were both taken off in the second half of the champions league game against Lille on Tuesday due to injuries are back fit and ready to face Liverpool.
It also indirectly confirms the return of right wing-back Reece James who has been injured for the past two months and these three players being fully fit hands Chelsea a big boost heading into Sunday’s final against Liverpool.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is also another player who returns on time to be in contention for Sunday’s final after having missed Chelsea’s last two games with an injury.
All in all, Thomas Tuchel has a fully fit squad to choose from against Liverpool, save for left wing-back Ben Chilwell who is yet to return to first team training.
